My baby thinks she is a super model!

And so it starts -the never ending battle a girl must face with her weight. Is she too fat? Is she too skinny? Do her clothes fit right?

Too many questions for a 10 day old but it seems that Princess O is already on a super model diet. She is refusing to move that scale up for Mommy and Daddy. We are stuck at 5.13 this week which is well under her birth weight. So as Mommy sobbed and sobbed once again, we put her exclusively on a bottle full of pumped milk.
HOPEFULLY and PRAYERFULLY just until Tuesday when we can resume breastfeeding.

Mommy has not been happy about this other than the fact that if this is what we need to gain weight, then it is necessary. I was always worried about her taking a bottle at 6 weeks when I went back to work, now I am afraid she will never get off the bottle. Oh how we think we know what will happen.

Please pray the scale goes up at her appointment next Tuesday. In the mean time- forgive me if I don't share her. We need all the snuggling we can get to make up for not nursing.

Emotions

Being pregnant with you my Olivia was an experience I will never forget. The high light was when I could feel you kicking and moving.

With that being said, I am so happy that you are now in my arms. Your bright eyes and baby noises just warm my heart!

Yesterday you were one week old. I asked Daddy how he felt about the last week and his smile from ear to ear told me everything I needed to know. It was the same smile I have seen on his face before. One of sheer and utter joy!

I have to admit to a barrage of emotions this last week. Daddy has stood right by me through my sobbing. Just holding me close until my puffy eyes could leak no more. I told him I was making up for being such a good pregnant lady and not really having any hormonal issues. He of course just smiles and holds me closer. His favorite comforting phrase is "Just let is go". I am sure you will be hearing this in the future when life just seems a little hard.

Daddy and I were so excited to introduce you to Pops and Aunt Amber last night! They came for 5 days and of course thought you are as perfect as we do. You were such a good girl and opened up your eyes to say hello to them both.

Our Princess is here!

Olivia at 4 days old

Mommy and Olivia at 5 days old

Daddy and Olivia at 5 days old

This last week has been truly amazing! I will try and recap the high lights so you can share in our joy!

Tuesday night we went to the hospital and they induced my labor- although I was pretty much already in labor. They started my IV at 8:30 pm, I managed my contractions through the night until they broke my water at 5:45 am. At that point I decided for some relief and got the epidural. :)

Olivia was born at 12:55 pm just a few hours later. They had a team of pediatricians ready to take her because she had been showing signs of stress and lack of growth so they were ready for whatever condition she was in. (hence the induction).

As it turns out, she was perfectly normal and healthy! Praise the Lord! Weighing in at 6.8 lbs and 19.25 inches long. She was crying with the best of them until Mommy started talking to her. :) What a precious moment.

Emmanuel was the best labor coach ever! He was right by my side and overwhelmed with the miracle of Olivia's birth. I am so blessed to have such a strong husband.

The last 6 days have been amazing. We have had a little bit of challenge in the nursing and weight department. She was 2 weeks early so as my nurses liked to call her, she is a bit lazy. Haha...

On Friday we found out she was down 12.5% of her body weight and anything over 10 is cause for alarm. So over the weekend we were on a strict 90 minute feeding schedule and introduced the bottle/formula. We are slowly gaining weight and our next goal is 6 pounds at our Dr. appointment on Friday.

So that catches you up on the last week of our lives! I will now be able to share the daily joys and notes to my daughter. She is truly an amazing blessing.

Last post

This will be my last post writing to my unborn daughter. Next post she will be here. :) We are leaving for the hospital and being induced tonight. Ms. Olivia should have a birthday of November 18th if everything goes well. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to meet and hold you.

Keep us in your prayers!

I can give you some of my fat!

Well Ms. Olivia- unless the calculations are off, you are one tiny little girl!!! We had an ultrasound and Dr. visit today and found out you just aren't quite growing up like you should. I think it is because of all the contractions we have been having this last month that are just stressing us both!

Last ultrasound you were at the 40th percentile but we found out today that you are at the 17th. So you just aren't getting chubby like we had hoped.

Mommy is still praying that the measurements were off but just to be safe, our Dr. wants you to be born this week. She wanted your birthday to be tomorrow but the hospital is very very full. Unless there is an emergency in the next 48 hours we will go to the hospital on Thursday morning so they can give you a birthday.

Since we know you are coming this week we had Pops take a couple of pictures of Daddy and I tonight. :) Daddy looks so handsome all dressed up and in his new shoes. Your Daddy loves shoes!

The weekend is half over

Well Ms "O", your twin friends arrived safely early Wednesday morning and it is twin girls! We are hoping to meet them soon, they are still at the hospital recuperating from their journey.

You and I have had some rough days and nights. Going back to work at 37 weeks pregnant is just NOT EASY! Especially since we are not sleeping at night and had gotten into a routine at home to make up for that. Mommy is praying that we make it through next week if you decide not to come this weekend.

Pops and I went shopping today and found a cute little Christmas outfit to take your picture in. Mommy wanted to get a dress for you but it proved very difficult to find a Christmas dress in Newborn size so we settled on a little velvet one piece outfit with snowflakes on the feet. Super cute.

Right now I am sitting at my table typing and you have the hiccups. Amazing how you can hiccup with no air! Come out and show Mommy your awesome hiccups. :) Tonight would be okay with me.

Back To Work

Today is officially our first day back at the office working. We of course have been working from home this whole time, but it does feel very odd to be at the desk again after 4 weeks at home. :)

We are half way through our day and Mommy is praying in earnest that you come this weekend so we don't have to work 40 hours next week! It is just too hard to sit and concentrate all day. But God is with us and His timing is perfect.

Daddy and I went to the hospital last night to finish our Lamaze birthing class. It was 3 hours long but we are glad we went and completed it.

Pops is here visiting for the weekend so we will see if you come say hello while he is here.

Oh and here is a picture of Mommy's hair that I am SO glad I was able to get done before you arrived!
