International Friends!

Here is Olivia and her friend Reagan. Reagan was born at the same hospital, the same day and was in the nursery with Olivia. Reagan's parents are friends from church and are originally from Indonesia...we are so happy to have lots of friends for Olivia!

Grandma G

I was reminded this week at how God blesses us just when we really need it, and sometimes when we don't even realize we need it. Olivia spent her first day away from us. Emmanuel was working and I had an orientation to go to for my former job. So Grandma G was called in to watch the Princess. What a blessing it was to know she was loved and safe with her.

When I got home, I found not only my Princess enjoying every minute with Grandma G, but my kitchen scrubbed, my dishes put away, my table cleaned off. Grandma G will never know how hard I cried when she left, but God and Olivia saw my tears. Sometimes it is just nice to be a little spoiled. Sometimes it is just nice to be loved on.

Still in our PJ's

So I am technically a stay at home mom now right? Even it is by default!! So I say it is perfectly fine that we are still in our PJ's...they are functional, comfy, cute and cuddly. Plus Mommy is still fighting her infection so just doesn't feel good. Yes, Mommy is still in her PJ's also....

Such is life...

Pokes and Smiles

Olivia had her two month checkup and first shots! Checkup went great. She is up to 10.1 now which puts her in the whopping 25th percentile. Although she is still only in the 10th percentile for height! Haha...

She is doing so great...smiling and cooing almost every time she is awake. She had a rough time for the 48 hours after her pokes. Just miserable she was...poor thing. But she is back on schedule and sleeping through the night pretty consistently! What a blessing that is!

I am enjoying every moment of being home with her...God has really blessed us!

Lots of People Love Olivia

At night before bed I usually have a conversation with my daughter. After this weekend in DC I had to add to the conversation.

"Do you know how many people love you Ms Olivia? Lots and Lots of people love Olivia. Jesus loves Olivia, Mommy loves Olivia, Daddy loves Olivia".

I go all through her grandparents, Aunt Emily, Aunt Amber and now I have to add her Uncles.

I regret not getting a picture, but we were at a funeral so felt bad pulling my camera out. During the 3 hour long memorial service Olivia and I needed to get into a quieter room, so we were escorted, no whisked away by two of Emmanuel's very close friends. We totally looked like royalty as two big black men grabbed all our stuff and took us out of the room!

So here we are, in an empty room. I watched as these two huge African men passed my daughter to each other. Enjoying every minute with her tinyness! What an image that left in my mind.

So now...at night I have to add Uncle Marc and Uncle DarDar. Because obviously they love Olivia.

2 months old!!

Our daughter is two months old today...she is smiling, cooing and just such a sweet baby. Last night she got to meet Tassi and Uncle Kwami for the first time and Uncle is a doctor. He could not believe how strong and alert she is for her age. He kept calling her "dynamic". Haha.. She is all that!

I am out of town so will post pictures when I get back to my home computer. :)

Stupid Socks

Today I am blogging about socks. Olivia must have about 25 pairs of socks. And of those 25 only 3 pairs stay on her feet. Why do they make baby socks that don't actually stay on baby feet? I must throw kudos out to Gap- theirs are 2 of the pairs that work. Thank you Gap for keeping the Princess's feet warm.
